In the 1920's era, or the "roaring twenties," women from all walks of life were only beginning to feel a sense of independence. The women's suffrage ended in 1921, when women gained the right to vote. Fashion trends were becoming androginous, in the sense that women wanted to wear hats and pin-striped suits that resembled the men's attire. Art Deco was the design style of the time with its bold use of color and geometric designs. The men and women of the 20's knew that things were changing and would never be the same again.
The real Ms. Chocolate, who is printed on every label, is Elinor. She is a relative who is truly dear to our hearts. In the 1920's, she was an independent woman that loved to travel and was one of the few women entrepreneurs at the time. She taught us to love, laugh, respect everyone, to be proud even when you have to sacrifice, and to help others in need. Most of all, she taught us to never compromise, especially when it comes to doing something you want. Therefore, we honor her everyday.
